Beware: Exercise Can Be Harmful

Many people think that the key to wonderful health is exercise. In fact, many people have a misconception that exercise is an effective way to lessen pain and bring your body back to better shape. They succumb to activities such as Pilates, yoga, 30-minute circuits, jogging, or go to the gym to get their daily dose of exercise.

Do not get the wrong idea, though. This is not to say that exercise is not good for the health. It is. Exercise is good because on top of its multitude of other benefits, it helps increase the blood flow into your joints, making them more capable of fuller ranges of motion. If you have minor pain when your body is out of shape, you can easily be relieved through exercise and the results are almost always wonderful.

However, danger lies when some people immediately sign up in the gym or make their own fitness programs without carefully considering what actually causes their pain. People sometimes tend to assume that they know what they need to alleviate their pain, without really making an effort to find out.

If you are not aware, there are at least 6 possible ways to have postural imbalances in the body, all of which can be rooted from the spine (the main or of our body). These imbalances can be felt as joint strain in the form of neck, back, leg and arm pain. If the pain you are feeling is caused by imbalance in your spine (consequently, posture), engaging in exercise programs can provide more unwanted strain. The pain will expectedly get worse due to overloading, and exercise can prove more harmful than helpful.

So, if you are going through something similar, will you risk enduring more pain?
