Long Periods of Sitting = Back Pain = Spine Misalignment

It  might surprise you to know that sitting for 2 consecutive hours can already  cause mild spinal strain. Worse, sitting for long hours can potentially damage  your lumbar spine, the symptoms of which radiates up into the neck.

If  you are used to ignoring the pain you feel when you sit all day, you should be  warned. The pain you feel is actually the result of your spine adding stress on  the ligaments which are responsible for supporting your back. As the proper  curves in the spine are compromised, you put undue tension on your spinal cord,  which eventually lead to even worse pain. You risk yourself from degenerative  osteoarthritis, which can set in immediately when triggered further by physical  as well as emotional stresses. Unfortunately, a seemingly harmless spine curve  loss is already a misalignment.

Misalignment  of the spine is serious mainly because they can initiate the degeneration of  your spine. As you know, your nervous system relies on the spine for it to pass  on all the messages from the brain to the other parts of the body.

Spine  misalignments are usually caused by accidents and falls. However, as implied  above, long periods of sitting for months, years, and hopefully, decades, can  slowly lead to misalignment as well. Think about how long you sat everyday  since pre-school up until now at work. Imagine the back pains you have ignored  through those many years and how it has gotten worse. Know that it probably  will get even worse in the years to come, unless you start taking it seriously.

Remember  that your spine will never go back to its normal, optimal state unless you do  something about restoring it. And this means now. Will you wait for the time it  gets worse than you can endure?
